Investing In The Future 

We are excited to announce that we have concluded another successful Summer Program at our law firm.  We were pleased to have had two dynamic college students and aspiring lawyers join our firm for the summer months.  Both students boast impressive backgrounds and exhibit an enviable thirst for knowledge and new experiences.   We appreciate the diversity of thought and background that these interns brought to our office and firm.   

Our managing partner is always looking for ways to give back and to make an impact on young people and believes that “this summer’s class will be another chance for us to demonstrate our firm commitment on developing the young leaders of today for the future.” 

We look forward to welcoming an undergraduate intern from Hampton University in the Fall and are hopeful to also be joined by a law student from one of Ohio’s impressive law schools. 

Guest Instructor on Legal Foundations for Business 

Our Managing Partner recently presented an engaging and interactive course on fundamental legal considerations for new businesses to entrepreneurs at Youngstown State University.  During his presentation, Attorney O’Brien discussed legal aspects of getting started, forming the legal entity, funding the company, building the team and doing business, generally. The dialogue stemming from the presentation was robust and subsequently several start-up founders have engaged with the firm for follow-on support as they seek to expand, grow and ultimately scale their businesses.  Attorney O’Brien would like to thank the leadership at MOBI. 

Celebrating One of the Greats 

We were excited to be invited and in attendance to celebrate the retirement of one of America’s most impactful librarians and library directors.  After nearly 20 years of leadership at the Robert W. Woodruff Library of the Atlanta University Center, Inc. and a nearly 50-year career in library services and information science, Ms. Loretta Parham, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Woodruff Library closed her last catalogue and retired. 

In a fan-fare filled send-off with distinguished guests that included the Presidents of Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University and Interdenominational Theological Seminary, the Former Mayor of Atlanta, Global Ambassador Ingrid Saunder Jones and countless others, speeches were made, impact statements given, and a proclamation from the Atlanta City Council was hand-delivered by the Counsel President. 

Director Parham was acknowledged for her transformative leadership at Woodruff and also in a variety of other library science organizations and history preservations institutions to include: the HBCU Alliance (which she co-founded), the past chair of the Georgia Humanities Council, former board member of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), the Wayne State University School of Library Science Advisory Board and past treasurer of the Oberlin Group.

Parham holds the Master of Library Science (1977) degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and the Bachelor of Science in Communications from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Parham is an alumna of the Frye Institute, the ACRL/Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians, the HBCU Library Alliance Leadership Institute and Leadership Pittsburgh.
